Two COVID-19-related deaths, 213 new cases reported across 12 states

Twelve states have confirmed 213 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, according to the figures released on Tuesday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

The health agency also reported two COVID-19- related deaths.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Tuesday.

According to the agency, the 213 new cases were recorded from Lagos, Rivers, Enugu, Oyo and eight other states.

Lagos with the highest numbers for new infections reported 157 cases, Rivers – 20, Plateau – 12, Enugu – 6, Oyo – 6, Gombe – 3, Bauchi – 2, Imo – 2, Kaduna – 2, while Edo, Ekiti and Ogun each reported a single case.

The health agency said the 213 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 171, 324

However, 164, 798 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.

With two COVID-19 death reported, the death toll from the virus has risen to 2,134. NCDC said.

It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
